A

Toast + Boiled Egg + Salad

Toast + Boiled Egg + Salad
Chorei
Thick-sliced and totally satisfying! The toast was generously thick, so it was very filling. A simple set, but it gave me just the right amount of satisfaction for a morning meal.

That salad dressing is something elseThe toast was incredibly thick — impressive! The dressing wasn’t just plain sesame sauce; it had an added umami hit that went straight to my brain.

Might need 3 of these if you’re a big eater!I don’t usually eat toast, so I can’t speak in detail — but I don’t think the quality is bad at all. Personally, I think I could eat about three of Set A 😁

B

Egg Sandwich

Egg Sandwich
Chorei
Fluffy bread meets refreshing tea — perfect match! The bread was incredibly soft, and it was packed with fillings. The mild egg sandwich flavor paired beautifully with the refreshing taste of the tea!
🫖
Gucchi
Substantial and satisfyingPlenty of filling inside, and just one sandwich was enough to leave me genuinely full.
🌿

That freshly-made aroma pairs so well with coffeeIt had the scent and taste of something made right then and there — a great match with a cup of coffee.

C

Rice Ball + Miso Soup

Rice Ball + Miso Soup
Chorei
Like breakfast at my grandparents’ houseThe rice was fluffy and soft, just the way I like it! Filled with bonito flakes and pickled plum — two of my favorites. It had a nostalgic flavor that reminded me of mornings at my grandparents’ home.
🫖
Gucchi
The miso soup might be the best I’ve ever hadThe rice ball fillings were pickled plum and bonito flakes — gentle and comforting. As for the miso soup, the umami was so concentrated and deep, it may genuinely be the best miso soup I’ve ever tasted.
🌿
Shuemo
Miso soup: ◎. Filling could be a bit more generousI felt like there was a little less filling inside the rice ball — but that doesn’t mean it was bad by any means. The miso soup was really delicious!

D

Hot Dog

Hot Dog
Chorei
Simple, but the quality of each ingredient really shinesThe sausage was juicy, and the seasoned stir-fried cabbage complemented it perfectly. Simple as it is, you could tell great care went into every element.
🫖
Gucchi
Reminded me of my favorite hot dog in Iceland! The sweet bun and salty sausage are a match made in heaven. The texture of the vegetables inside is a wonderful bonus for the palate.
🌿
Shuemo
International guests will absolutely love this! The most filling of the four options, and I think it’s a flavor that people from overseas will really take to. Highly recommended!

🏆 Our Final Verdict! Staff Picks

🍙

Chorei’s Pick / C: Rice Ball + Miso Soup

The rice balls, lovingly made by a wonderful couple, have a gentle flavor, and the miso soup is packed with ingredients and deeply satisfying. For anyone who wants to experience a truly Japanese breakfast — this is the one. An absolute must-try!

🌭

Gucchi’s Pick / D: Hot Dog

It reminded me of my all-time favorite hot dog I had in Iceland — and it was absolutely delicious. I can’t recommend it enough!

🌭

Shuemo’s Pick / D: Hot Dog

The most satisfying of the four, and I think it’s a flavor that international guests will really love. Please give it a try!

☕ A quick word from coffee lover Gucchi

☕ Coffee Review

青い鳥 コーヒー
Stronger and more bitter than your average cup, with a truly unique character. Highly recommended for black coffee lovers! When I asked the owner about it, he told me they use Yamamoto Coffee’s Special Blend — the same one used in hotels. It’s a flavor you’d rarely come across in an ordinary café!

🍳 Bonus: Oyakodon (¥700)

Oyakodon
Great news — you can order items outside the morning menu first thing in the morning too! The fluffy egg and tender chicken were a wonderful combination, brought together by a mild, delicious broth. Our colleague Xue, who was trying Oyakodon for the first time in Japan, was so smitten that she wanted to learn how to make it herself! Perfect for anyone who wants a hearty, fulfilling start to the day.

One of the great charms of Aoi Tori is that you can order dishes from the regular menu right from the start of the morning — not just the breakfast set. If you’re in a hurry, the morning menu has you covered; if you want something more filling, try combining it with a regular dish too.

It also seems you can upgrade the included coffee or tea to another drink for an additional fee!

Aoi Tori is just a 4-minute walk from the hotel and serves a truly delicious breakfast. We really hope you’ll pop in and give it a try. And don’t forget — make sure to try our staff picks!

Shy when it comes to romance, but dreams of going out for sweets with a girlfriend
I have a major sweet tooth — tarts are my absolute weakness. I like to think I’m the most doted-on member of the Kyoto team (though that’s entirely self-proclaimed). I’m a little shy when it comes to romance, but one day I’d love to take a girlfriend out for sweets on a date. A boy can dream!
